If you need to replace your battery you have a few options but remember to consider weight ,power and what type of battery you would like. Luckily in South Africa we have great weather and batteries do last if you take care of them, do not wet the battery (hence covers on them) keep them warmer rather than colder 20°C-40°C and check that water levels are decent remember to check your alternator as well when changing your battery. Here are some batteries ,some might not be available off the shelf locally but can be ordered. ( Original battery was Panasonic ,if you still have one ,wow well done ) Duralast Gold - Size 51R DLG Durastart Maxx 51R Sport Optima D51R Yellowtop Battery - 8073-167 EverStart Plus 51R-4 Automotive Deka ETX20L Odyssey PC680 Exide Edge AGM Car Battery (Group 51R) Odyssey PC925MJT Dry Cell AGM Battery These are top rated on other forums , i have a Sabat 636 51R in my car and it has worked well so far (3 years since replacement according to service book) the alternative from Sabat is Sabat 639 51R. Remember the important factors when buying a battery - Weight, maintenance, cost and CCA ratings For those who don't know CCA - The rating number refers to/indicates the number of amps a 12-volt battery can deliver at 0°F (-17.8°C) for 30 seconds while maintaining a voltage of at least 7.2 volts. The higher the CCA rating, the greater the starting power of the battery.

My experience on two Mazda 6s with Panasonic batteries were not great. On both the two 6s I owned the original Panasonic battery did not last two years. My 2nd Mazda 6 was delivered to the dealer the same day it arrived at Motorvia off the ship, so the car has not been standing around for long. The 1st one was on the dealer floor when I bought it and I never had any warranty claims on that car, so there was never a need to pull its warranty report.
The original Panasonic in my wife's Sirion just cleared the 1 year battery warranty, but they like the smaller Kia & Hyundai seems to eat batteries.
The warranty report provides very useful info. It gives the build date (date signed off by QC in Japan or wherever it was build, date it landed in SA, date sold to dealer & date sold to 1st owner. Subsequent to that it gives a detailed report of services & warranty claims. All dealers are not keen to provide the info, but it can be obtained from the workshops of any Mazda dealer. We had a short 3 month period when the info for Mazdas were not available ex the FMCSA warranty system, but I have since managed to obtain these reports again.
I use any of the locally made First National brands and had great service from them.
