Good evening readers,
I'm considering installing an air conditioning unit in my 1991 MX-5, due to the fact that mine isn't a weekend cruiser but an everyday drive in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
I've heard that my car has a retractable roof and that it should be sufficient...clearly they do not experience classic horrors provided by stop-and-go traffic, exacerbated by the beautiful gamma rays of the summer sun.
I would like to hear from you guys (and girls), your opinion and suggestions on fitting an A/C. The "where to", "contact who", and "you should actually".
Take care & thanks for your time!

Eteen, Dunair ( a Metair Ltd part of TSA group) used to supply the local industry with AC units. Most Mazdas produced at least until 2002) in SA used Dunair units. At the moment they are only supplying Nissan for the NP200 and TSA Corolla, Hi Lux & Fortuner) but it maybe worth it to find a Dunair outlet to see if they can asist. Otherwise a unit from a pre FL Etude may work as it also used Th B6 16v & BP engines.
I am not sure if they are still available but in at the end of the 90s & early 2000 there were electrical units available for the likes of Tazz, Mazda 323 Uno etc. This maybe an option as well. Unfortunately I cannot remember who used to supply these units.

Shot! Thanks for the input.
Luckily I've managed to get a stock MX-5 unit from a friendly guy in Cape Town. Should arrange for transport & fitment within the next two weeks!
